I will be a senior in Mechanical Engineering at Lehigh University this fall. I am from China and I grow up watching my father, who is a civil engineer, reading all kinds of drawings. For some reason, I made my mind becoming an engineer in my future at that moment. About four months ago, I heard about RCC Fabricators, Inc. when I was doing internship searching. I learned that this company works the same type of business as my father does. The only difference is RCC works in steel industry, but my father deals with varies of materials in civil engineering. I did not hesitate to send my resume because I believe if I am offered the job, it will be a great experience for me and get my feet wet in engineering industry. During the interview with Scott A. Vesper, the president of RCC Fabricators, Inc., he introduced serval projects RCC was working on at that time, including researching and developing a railroad equipment, couple projects for steel structures of railroad stations. After hearing all these information, I knew being a project manager was the job I wanted for my career. More important reason I chose construction field to do my internship is I feel ineffably proud of myself when I tell other people the project I worked on. This consists with my motto, “making a difference to this world”.
