My name is Kevin Voeller and I am studying Civil Engineering at California State University, Chico. I remember being a kid and first hearing from my brother what an engineer was. I immediately decided that’s what I wanted to do. I would dream about designing playgrounds and roller coasters. As the years passed by, my inspiration only grew stronger. A key influence in my life has been from being around construction since an early age. My grandfather started a scaffolding company back in the 70’s that has now been passed down to my father. I tried my hand at my family legacy for a few summers while completing prerequisites at school. Since this experience, it made sense to major in civil engineering to further my understanding of construction practices. My decision to pursue an internship this summer was to get some hands on experience and put the classroom concepts I have learned to practical use.
